New Years Eve
We celebrated New Years Eve with our good friends on board. Without a TV, we felt a bit disconnected from the world at first. How do you know it's really midnight? But then we heard foghorns all around, and fireworks began at the Statue of Liberty. This photo was taken from our enclosed cockpit, nice and warm, by our friend Debby. A much better way to ring in the new year! (Maybe we don't want the dish installed on Tuesday after all!)
Misty January Morning in NY Harbor
This is our back yard, the view off the bow at the next dock.
This is what we saw while running this morning outside the marina in Liberty State Park.
Looking out at Ellis Island, we saw that the "waters above and the waters below" are exactly the same, except for density.
If not for the skyline in the distance, we might have believed that the mist was an electrically-charged time machine from a 1950's sci-fi, transporting us back to the turn of the last century,
